The town of Poreč was founded by the Romans and its history has begun 2,000 years ago. The most significant building in Poreč and the monument of the highest category which entered 1997 the UNESCO S World Heritage List is Euphrasius Basilica built in 553. With its 9.000 inhabitans Poreč today is one of the most popular tourist destination on the western coast of Istria. |
