The town of Pula with 60,000 inhabitants is located on the top of the Istrian peninsula. The name Polai first appered around 3.000 years ago and ancient poets tell of the Argonaut seamen who were the first to settle on the peninsula. The excellently preserved Roman Amphiteatre from the 1st C A..D., the fifth largest amphiteatre in the World, is still the point of atraction for live events.
