The atractive turist destination with 13,000 inhabitants was born on an island and then in the 18 C the channel was filled up. The beautiful town is dominated by the church of St. Euphemia, a baroque edifice built in the 18 C. On the top of the bell tower there is the statue of St. Euphemia which rotates on its axis, showing the weather prospects to fishermen and town inhabitants for more than three centuries. The arcipelago of 13 islands and islets gives a special charm to this town and its coast. |
